here and here?
i didnt notice before but that could totally be buckbeak. good eye!
my husband and i were trying to decide if those were pumpkins. as seen in closer-up pictures it's just orange earth.
but it seems likely that's where the pumpkins should go.
anyway i thought we'd bow to buckbeak BEFORE boarding the ride but whatev. still cool.
i also noticed the walkway/bridge. seems sort of likely.
isnt that where the house crests are? good place to see them then.
i think the courtyard discussion is finally over. it seems they sealed it or closed it with some sort of roof. the end. :)
my husband referred to the facadein comparison to the show building as a "cake topper". haha.
you could fit 8-10 facades in that enormous building!!
That, and you can see the scaffolding in which the worker used to get up there.
Great pictures, Disneyhead and BriMan! The aerial view is awesome and it must've been a tad frightening.
Yeah that would be very cool but if you look at the picture again, there is a construction worker on site that provides good scale to actually how tall the tunnel is:
I would say that tunnel is only about 5 feet tall, not big enough for a person to fit through, easily that is![]()
BTW AWESOME PICS - i cant believe you guys took a chopper up! so amazing!!
i definitely think the red twin roof skeletons are men/women bathrooms.
it seems the structures next to them are shallower, so maybe they are lockers?
by comparing the original flyover, the new flying tour, and these aerial shots, i was able to clearly identify zonkos, honeydukes, three broomsticks, hogs head on the left (followed by likely bathrooms and possible lockers).. on the right, hogwarts express, mini station, entrance to dragons path (golden egg arch), owlery, owl post, ollivanders. and filch goes in the castle, right?
but i cant for the life of me figure out where dervish and banges is supposed to be!
interesting that there seems to be a definite path to the greenhouses now. i guess that answers that question. sort of. great catch whoever found the arch leading in next to them as well. i wonder if anything would be done to cover the sow building from that angle since you can walk right up to it. maybe the mural, maybe nothing.
and its not like riders ill miss out on the greenhouses as queue. odds are if you ride the ride you will also want to queue again to see the rooms. i wonder how they will work it though. on manta, you can see all the aquariums from the other side if you arent queuing. for fj, you have to get in line with riders at some point. i feel like that could be awkward somehow. i wonder how the traffic will flow.
Looks like it just might be Buckbeak. Great eye!

I think you're wrong. If you see closely in the third picture you posted there is a hole in the wall just outside the green houses as "The Decemberists" pointed out in the previous page. I think the path you see is just so construction workers don't have to go all the way around and inside the castle soy they can work on that part of the que. Once they are done they will cover that dirt road with trees. As for the decorative panels, I think you might be right, since we would be able to see the show building while going inside/outside the greenhouse.
Briman and/or Disneyhead would you guys mind sending me some hi-res versions?
I'm pretty decent at photoshop and would like to see if I could find anything in that courtyard.
Interesting that the Great Hall isn't the only thing that's floating. And you can see Hagrid's hut in the background
Also, this opening definitely looks person-sized to me. I haven't made up my mind about the bridge yet. Both openings look feasible to me, but the bridge itself looks way too narrow. I also like how that one turret isn't finished all the way around.

Im so confused! I never knew this was here. What reason would they put a gaping hole in the rockwork for and it does look like it would go up to the courtyard but I cant tell. Its funny how its been there the whole time though.
EDIT: Ya know when I look at it again I bet that they will close that up with more rockwork but who knows what they have up there sleeve?
I know someone reading this does.
Thanks for the photos guys, you have taken it to a new level!!! I'm sure you two had heaps of fun on this adventure!! Information overload but great netherless. So many details!!!!
that courtyard...they are doing something with it, drop off part of the ride?

I think that is going to become the exit.

I dunno, but is that some sort of Jumbotron above the exit?
So I zoomed into more of the pics I took and found some interesting things.
More Buckbeak evidence
The entrance to Dragon's Challenge
Looks like they expanded the bridgeway as you can now see that circle just like the Concept Art shows.
A closeup of Honeydukes and Zonkos

Seeing real people walk on the bridge would completely ruin the forced scale of the facade. So I don't think anyone's going to be able to get up there.
I think the hole is just for detail. That bridge, even if fake, has to lead SOMEWHERE... hench the hole.
