The sign seems to be held up nicely...maybe the wiring is so that the sign swings when someone points their wand at it?
Nice zoomed up shot of the Three Broomsticks. It looks so detailed to look old and rusty.
I wonder what they are doing to the arches around the courtyard of the entrance of the Great Hall. I hope they are making the rock work flow more naturally into the stone walls. Wow! the three broom sticks patio is looking uncluttered with all the catwalks down. That is a nice change!
Hey folks, new here. :) I have to say the pictures are awesome.
I went to Universal for Halloween Horror Nights, the progress between then and now is just amazing. I honestly can't believe they've been going that fast. I just want to thank everyone for the pictures and updates--it's been much appreciated.
I plan on going there on Sunday to see what's been going on so far. It's nice to see the scaffolding around it is gone now, so I can see the castle in near-completion and finally get a sense of the optical illusion a bit more.

Thanks again Mookie. (wished you had done your famous zoom more) but it looks at last as though the great hall is about to 'unfloat'. They are finally joining the disparate components together.
For that person that said some of these components are 'fairly inexpensive', the scaffolding for the waterfront terrace was being built on November 5. It just came down on December 28. Basically 2 months for a very small part of what will comprise this island... and a distant wall at that. 5-10 guys working for 60 days on one small part making 20-40 dollars per hour plus overtime PLUS materials. Ka'Ching... This is expensive work.
I love the way that the repaved/restoned outer wall looks around the Three Broomsticks.
GREAT PICS MOOKIE!!!!!!!!
Anyhoo, I find it kind of weird because I don't believe anyone has brought this up yet.
What's up with that?
According to Mookie's shot of that area, there is no obvious sign of what they are planning to do to fix that section of show building yet to be mountainized.
I'm sure they are going to fill in that spot in some way. They have a similar situation occurring at the courtyard also.
By the way, on The Wizarding World of Harry Potter website, there seems to be five new pieces of concept art showing Hogsmeade under the "other images" section of the gallery.

The new pictures in the gallery on the site is just an overview of Hogsmeade but it is pretty neat.
Great pictures, Mookie! Hogwarts and Hogsmeade is looking awesome. ;)
Just looked at the map on their site and noticed a few things. One the lake on the map. Will they actually put that in or is it just filler to replace where Jurassic Park currently is as it is a water ride and somewhat lakelike? And two in the picture for The Dragon Challenge there is a castle surrounding the ride. Will they be replacing the green forest wall that was put in to stop the noise from reaching the school with an actual castle wall? These are all questions I have does anyone have any answers?
the lake on the map is the park lagoon.
Are you referring to the boat? At this time, we've not heard any plans for the boat to actually be placed in the lake.
The boat resembles the one that is the method of transportation for the Durmstrang school to Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Other than that, there's no real importance behind it as far as the plot goes.
Placing the boat in the lake would be a cool touch, but it would complicate the time period the Wizarding World is set in. We're going to have to wait until after the land opens, but die-hard fans don't want to see a wanted poster from the third book, a boat from the fourth book, and a ride with a plot taking place after the events in the books.
Placing the boat in the lake would also bring about forced perspective issues with it and other surrounding buildings, that, and it would obstruct the view of The Wizarding World from other lands.
I and many others would love to see the green noise shield around the corner of Dueling Dragons to be replaced with castle walls. We all want a lot of themeing to be added to Dueling Dragons, but it seems doubtful. We've heard nothing of these changes and none of the work has started, on site, or at Nassal.
