Wow, thanks for the zooms Mookie! Great pictures.

That appears to be a Fresnel Lens with some kind of reflector behind. Hmmmmm... beam of light from the tower echoing the IOA lighthouse or will this reflect the sun? Is there any such device like this mentioned in the books? The only thing that is even remotely like this in the movies is that big reflector telescope thingy in Dumbledore's office. hmmm....

It is the actual sun reflecting through as it is empty right now. I have a feeling there will be a few cool nighttime effects coming from the great hall.

I think it would be a great effect to project Voldemort's dark mark in the night sky, if possible.

I'm just saying, nobody would be expecting the Batsignal to be in Hogwarts...

I love the astronomy instrument in the circlular window of the tower. I like how they didin't just put a clock because there is already one in front of the great hall.

I cannot believe how quickly they resculpted the cliffs in front of the castle. The rebar redo was present on Friday of last week? It is apparent that the designers wanted more drama and detail, more rocketing up towards the great hall etc. I have wondered why there hasn't until now been more scaling of the rockwork as it gets closer to the castle.

Great pictures Samuele! Shows another perspective and your pictures are also very clear and informative. Keep it up! Edit: and the hi-res pictures on your website are even more telling.

It finally hit me tonight how expensive this is. This project is a Zebra. In the old animation days of Walt Disney and Warner Brothers cartoons, you couldn't animate anything that had spots or stripes, as it was just too expensive to have hand drawn every stripe and spot frame by frame.

Look at the work on this, it is unlike any other park anywhere... every brick, every stone, EVERYTHING must be hand sculpted in small detail piece by piece. It isn't the stucco of port of entry with a few bricks and stones here and there, it isn't the random rockwork of JP or stucco of its buildings... it is organized stone masonry everywhere. I will bet you that NASSAL is making more on this than they made on the entire IOA project. This is over the top... I have never seen so many workers on site on any project since I have lived here. EE at AK looked relaxed compared to this activity. These American construction workers are very lucky people to have jobs... and I am sure that they know it.

I can't get over how awesome being able to see Hogwarts perfectly from Hogsmeade is. It's almost like a smaller version of Main Street at MK.
