In talking with Briman, we realized that one of the central Florida attractions not represented here at OU is Kennedy Space Center. Well, AI just featured a four part update thoroughly covering the attraction with hundreds of high resolution photos, so I wanted to share it with the members here!
First up, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (full gallery here) , the main "park" section of the attraction, and home to the Shuttle Launch Experience simulator. Here's a few teaser pics:
Next, the first stop on the KSC Bus Tour (included with park admission), the LC-39 Observation Gantry (full gallery here). This is the closest you can get to the massive Vehicle Assembly Building where the shuttles are prepped for launch and Launch Complex 39, the final spot on earth a shuttle sits before blasting off into outer space! The second stop on the KSC Bus Tour is the Apollo / Saturn V Center (full gallery here), home of the actual launch control room for the first successful rocket to the moon, as well as the absolutely giagantic rocket itself. Here's a few teaser pics:
And last but not least, take a look at the Astronaut Hall of Fame (full gallery here) - located about six miles from the KSC Vistor Complex - transportation is not offered but admission is free with your KSC ticket. Here's a few teaser pics:
