    Stitch's SuperSonic Celebration

Don't know how many of you know about this.

Stitch's SuperSonic Celebration is a musical stage show that celebrates Galaxy Day in the Tomorrowland area of Magic Kingdom Theme Park. Get ready to party with a high-energy dance troupe and a very special live video appearance from Stitch. Stitch's SuperSonic Celebration is scheduled to debut late spring 2009.

A live broadcast of the Tomorrowland News Network, with your host Tip Trendo, is interrupted by a video transmission from Stitch, who has "borrowed" a space cruiser assigned to cover Galaxy Day—a special celebration where everyone around the galaxy celebrates everything worth celebrating.

Stitch is always up for a good party! Join Stitch, Tip, the singing Galactic Girls and some surprise guests for an out-of-this-world party filled with music and dancing. Learn some space-age dance moves and groove to old favorites and original songs with the intergalactic crew on stage.

Just because Stitch appears on a screen, don't think this show is the same every time! Stitch interacts with the audience, and every show is a unique experience filled with fun and surprises.

Well, granted it's an addition, but why so much Stitch so close to one other?

Well at least it is close. We do not need Stitch at every park like other things. *coughpixarcough*

It sorta ruins the plot of the attraction if you ask me. He is supposed to be a prisoner, so why is he dancing 100 ft from the attraction?

    I agree.

The only hope I have for this show to make it tolerable for me, is that it might have a live band, or that the Galactic Girls might have outfits similar to the ones used in the old Galaxy Search type show in TL.

This just sounds stupid. The original Lilo and Stitch movie was great, but almost everything attached to the characters since then has been garbage. Stitch already has one of the lamest theme park attractions at any theme park in the world...why would they want him associated with anything else in the park. This just proves that even though we all love Disney, they sometimes get it wrong. Hopefully the don't screw Tomorrowland up any more!

We shall see if they do when Space Mt is re-opened later this year from its scheduled 4-19 refurb.

Great up-close pictures Taryn! Looks like it's coming along pretty fast. Here's a picture of the concept art if anyones interested:

Thanks Kristi for the concept art, the structure makes a little more sense now

Looks like a bad episode of the old Josie and the Pussycats cartoon.

Agreed. I enjoyed Lilo and Stitch myself, but I don't think it was good enough to justify Stitch's taking over the theme parks. I'd much rather see them promote some of the other "classic" characters.

The stage and the concept art look pretty cool, I just wish they'd use it for something better than Stitch.

Well, I'll go out on a limb here, and say that I'm really excited for it. I'm glad Disney's at least trying to bring back some of their "Streetmosphere" performances after it seems like they've been cutting back in the past years. Of course, you could look at it as a cheap way for Disney to put some entertainment back into their parks without having to go whole hog and put in an entirely new ride.

I think it'll be a fun way to add to Tomorrowland, and, as an unabashed Stitch fan, it's definitely on my todo list for our upcoming trip!

At least it fits with the theme of tomorrowland. It is better than when they had the High School Musical show there.

    :rotfl:

Well, he IS "borrowing" the ship, so that can make sense... he escapes, then goes steals the celebration ship.... only to go TO the party. Never mind, my bad, it DOESN'T make sense after all.

I can already imagine Saw VI:

"I would like to play a game with you. In this room, there is a tape. It will play Stitch's Great Escape, followed by Stitch's SuperSonic Celebration. You can either sit and watch them both, OR you can leave with 10,000 volts of electricity through you. I'd take the electricity myself, but it's up to you."

Oh, and for those that despise all things Stitch: somebody on another forum commented on the name of the show, reasoning that if it's a SuperSonic celebration, it will be beyond sound-you wouldn't be able to hear it.
