Nice! It would be cool to see the new slides have something unique about them.

Aquatica, a Sea World branded water park, which opened in 2008, is rated as one of the best water parks on the planet. It is located in Orlando, Florida, very close to Sea World Orlando.Aquatica will add four first-of-a-kind water slides in 2010. Some including a pair of inner-tube rides that go uphill using new water slide technology, hydro-magnetic launches. At the beginning of the tornado slides is a magnetic launch, that launches a six-person raft up a vertical wall. While not much info has been released, it is a unique water slide that is first of its kind.A 40-foot-tall Topsy-Turvy pipeline complex that features a pair of traditional looping water slides will also be added in 2010. These slides are pictured above, and also feature a series of funnels where rafts swirl side to side before traveling through another tunnel to another funnel. There are 2 choices you can chose from the Topsy-Turvy slides. One is 285-feet long that features two funnels, the other being 460-feet but features four funnels. The four new water slides were on display this week at the ProSlide exhibit at the International Assn. of Amusement Parks and Attraction (IAAPA) convention this year in Las Vegas.
I think I like the purple slide the best. It doesn't seem too scary. LOL![]()
I am a big fan too. I use Aquatica as a break between busy days or after a packed day. Grab a chair, grab a book, grab a slide. It's just great to hang out for a break.
Looking forward to this development...
Seaworld likes to describe the ride in its November Press release like this: (not much, nothing new, but straight from the company)
"Aquatica in Orlando is a one-of-a-kind waterpark that could only come from SeaWorld. Inspired by a whimsical take on the South Seas, Aquatica immerses families in the playfulness of the sea, taking them in, over and under the water with the world’s most unique water rides and animal encounters. Aquatica mixes animal experiences, waters from serene to extreme, high speed waterslide thrills and wide, sandy beaches to create a day of non-stop fun. And this spring, the all-new Omaka Rocka thrills with high-speed tubes and massive half-pipe funnels that will have you sliding frontward and backward and climbing the walls. It’s all new and only at Aquatica."

Great news, thanks Briman!
Thanks for the shots, BriMan! By any chance, did you get them from the Sky Tower? I've always wanted to do that.Back on topic, I can't wait for these slides to open. They sound like fun and I'm up for trying them.
Nice and thanks! Looking forward to see the progress in reall life in February.
Rehab
When you look at the park schedule you will see that they are going to do major rehab in the first two weeks of February as well (only open on the weekends). So the park should have a fresh new paintjob.

Wishful thinking modus: Would they use those two weeks to finish the slides and theming, so I can experience them in February?

:-) Not as cold as back in Europe you Floridian
An average of 22C/73F during noon is more than enough to enjoy a waterpark for me.
Actually, I have been visiting/lived in Florida many times, even in December and February and I enjoyed the temperatures. (and of course, there is a possibility of bad weather) But if you recall last May, it was terribly as well, warm, but soaking wet.
So far for the weather update :-)
Seaworld talks My fingers are crossed that they will open early :-)
Aquatica will be home to a new ride by March 2010, SeaWorld officials confirmed today. Omaka Rocka, which will feature half-pipe maneuvers through three funnels (think extreme sports/skateboarding), will be the water park’s first expansion since it opened in early 2008.
Here are some details about Omaka Rocka:
+ It will share a platform with Whanau Way, on the wave-pool side of the park.
+ There will be two slides with three funnels each.
+ The name comes from South Seas and means “rocking river.”
+ The half-pipe element will provide “near weightlessness,” says Aquatica vice president Rick Beddow.
+ Guests will ride in two-seater floats like those currently found in the park.
+ There will be no height restriction, although you must be able to hold onto the grips and maintain the riding position throughout.
+ Although portions of the Omaka Rocka will be enclosed, the tubing will be “semi-transparent,” allowing more light in — and allowing landlubbers to see folks sliding through, says Brian Morrow, director of design and engineering. (As opposed to some of the very dark entrances of other Aquatica attractions.)
+ Morrow says SeaWorld has always had an expansion master plan — the Whanau Way tower was built with another ride in mind for the future. But Omaka Rocka is not the ride that was originally planned for that spot.
+ Construction is under way, and passersby should be able to see the tubing go up during the first half of January, Morrow says.
+ Despite reports to the contrary, this is the only expansion planned for Aquatica in 2010, SeaWorld officials say.
