My dad is a Diet Coke addict. We ALWAYS have Diet Coke. They used to be shaped differently about a year ago, so those bottles are probably relatively new. That's creepy.

Oh, and the vultures are adorable! It's a good thing he didn't run into momma vulture, though.

Haha well, I think we stumbled upon a truly weird aspect of the blog that wasn't so obvious at first.

I don't think the Diet Coke bottle is THAT new considering these photos were supposedly taken a while back
"This is the story of my trip there quite a few years ago when I lived in FL."

Now, it would have to at least be after 2001, since that's when River Country closed. Secondly it would have to be yet another year from that, at least, since he said his first attempt was a bust and it would be a full year before he tried again (and succeeded).

So, at the *earliest* it would have been around 2002. At the *latest* it would be around 2007, since he said in the comments somewhere that Disney couldn't prosecute him as the statute of limitations would have lapsed by now, and in Florida, for non-felonies, the limitation is 2 years. So your time frame is 2003-2007, somewhere in there.

I guess the question now would be, in what year did Coke switch to that bottle design? If it is past 1999-2000 someone had been visiting the island after it's closure and preserving snakes in odd bottles for... some... reason?

He did this 5 years ago which is why he is now posting the photos. The statute of limitations on trespassing in Florida is 5 years. Now that it's been 5 years, he can post the photos without Disney being able to charge him with trespassing.

Ok, so the photos are circa 2005. That Diet Coke label was in use from 1997 - 2002 according to wikipedia so it's likely these bottles were left over from when the Island was operational.

So the same was likely true for the river country photos.

If it was that bad then, imagine how bad and nasty it is there now.
