September 24, 2012 – Hey everyone! We’re back with our final update from Halloween Horror Nights 2012 at Universal Studios Hollywood – this time focusing on all of this year’s mazes.

As you probably can see, production values at this year’s event were unbelievably high, and the crowds obviously followed. Talk about a packed event. Anyway, enough of me, let’s get on with the mazes!

Upper Lot - Halloween Horror Nights

For our first maze, let’s take a look at the very popular La Llorona: La Cazadoroa de Los Ninos. Personally, in terms of plot, this was my absolute favorite. If you listen closely to the outdoor audio loop, you can start to get a feel for what La Llorona is all about. Of course, once you enter, that feeling amplifies ten-fold and you feel as if you’re walking through the tragic legend.

Pretty remarkable stuff, and damn chilling as well.

The attention to detail is really amazing. I’ll tell you, I’m not a huge fan of mazes, but this one seriously impressed me.

BLAH BLAH BLAHUGHUGH.

If you were to ask me for a maze that’s just absolutely bloody fun – I’d have to say Alice Cooper Goes to Hell 3D. The 3D effect is amazingly cool, and it’s just plain fun to go through.

Still, it’s scary. But fun. Fun. Fun.

Meanwhile, Geoff from The Late Late Show was there to entertain you while you waited in line. Well, not really.

Next up: The Walking Dead: Dead Inside. Probably the creepiest maze. Personally, I’ll admit I was spooked more than once in this thing. The ambiance was just bone chilling.

Who knows. Maybe I’m a wimp. Go check it out and tell me what you think.

See, I told you it was bone chilling. SEE WHAT I DID THERE? BECAUSE SHE’S IN THE FRIDGE? GET IT? HAHA.

Another BOGAH BOGAH.

Universal Monsters Remix. Given that it’s housed in a permanent venue (Universal’s House of Horrors), it definitely felt like the most elaborate maze at the park. Plenty of stairs, passageways and endless paths. It just kept going on and on, which made it very unpredictable and plenty of fun.

Overall, great maze. Love how they also manage to include dancers throughout the park in seemingly random places.

I can’t tell you how much I hate this doll. Damn you Chucky, and damn you Universal for making a room full of them.

Seriously. I hate these things.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Overall, a pretty strong maze. Very strong – with very “interesting” scents.

Let’s just say the scent stays with you.

One note of caution: the Lower Lot mazes (Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Silent Hill)
were absolutely packed during both of my visits, so you might want to start from the bottom and head on up.

And of course, I’ll end this update with a few shots from this year’s Bill and Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure. This year, they decided to focus on the iPhone 5, Siri, The Hunger Games…and a few others – I won’t ruin the entire plot.

But as always, it’s a most excellent show. Great script, great cast.
