Eh. Compared to past promotions this one is kinda crappy. I loved the Happiest Celebration on Earth promotion they had with all the characters and holographic cards. Now THAT was cool. Guess who has all of them.

MAN Sledge that brought back some memories!
I will still be getting my little guy the Pirate toys as he is a Happy Meal freak and of course there is one right by his school.

Ah, remember the glasses they sold some years back? One for each Kingdom and another set was for characters.
I still have them all and they are really the only ones I drink from at home. Drinks taste better in them I swear! :)

They ALWAYS screw that up for me. But I always have to go back in and switch it. My son won't settle for princess crapola.
I have learned now to check it before I pull out of the drive-thru.

He never wants sauce, but yeah unless you ask and see it go IN the bag... you are gonna leave there sauceless.
And they treat ketchup sometimes like it is a rare mineral... give you like 3 when you ordered Biggie meals for 6 people. WTH?
The other day I got a coffee and asked for 6 creams, "Six creams?!" and she looked at me like I had 5 heads. I like my coffee creamy, so what!?
OK I am totally on a McDonald's employee rant right now... forgive me, stepping down off the soapbox now.

Go for it. I have a fast food rant on MySpace about once a month. It's not a hard job. The fact that a majority of them are so incompetent is really sad. They might as well just give up on life since they aren't going anywhere if they can't even do that. The only exception is Chick-Fil-A who are always top notch. They are friendly, quick, and apologetic if something isn't perfect. They are like the Disney of Fast Food.

So I read an article on Jim Hill that apparently the promo is a pain in the ass for McD's employees. The employees are scripted to say "Do you want a Pirate, or Princess toy?". If an employee says "boy or girl?", some parents rip the employee.

Stupid Parents.....Its a freaking toy. If they say "boy or girl?" and your little girl wants to be like Johnny Depp, then freaking say "boy".

There was an article I saw yesterday about people getting pissed off that McDonalds was asking which gender the Happy Meal was for. My thoughts were, "Wow that must be a good McDonalds for them to actually ask you."

I'll see if I can find the article

Found it:

As a parent... this a stupidest thing for parents to get upset over... good lord, it's just a Happy meal toy not gender reassignment!

No kidding. I always ended up with Barbie instead of Hot Wheels when I was a kid.

hah! that is so funny....

i have gotten 3 happy meals since this started (yea I know - bad) but not once was I asked pirate or princess in my area...

That is interesting news though about disney and McD working together again. I could have sworn they had a bitter end a few years back. Disney said McD was not healthy and did not want to promote bad health to kids. But obviously they had a change of heart because it was a valuable promotional tool.
