Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge gives Easter egg painting a whole new meaning

As the Easter Bunny is preparing his baskets for delivery, kids of all ages paint white eggs into colorful masterpieces. Chicken eggs are generally used for this spring tradition for many centuries, the small size makes it easy for children’s hands to hold, but it also makes it easier for the Easter Bunny to hide. There is a solution to making this tradition not so easy to be hidden and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge offers such a solution.

For a few years now, guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge during the Easter weekend will get a chance to paint their very own Ostrich egg. An egg of that size guarantees that the Easter Bunny will have difficulty finding a hiding place.

You can paint for own Ostrich egg on Sunday, April 12 in Simba’s Cubhouse at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. There is a limited number of Ostrich eggs and are available on a first come, first served basis. The cost to paint your own Ostrich egg is a $30 donation to Disney’s Wildlife Conservation Fund.

There will be other activities at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge throughout the entire week leading up to Easter. Other activities include arts and crafts, character meet and greets and coloring contests. Most activities are held near Pumbaa’s Arcade on the pool deck. Daily activities are listed on the back of any lifeguard stand.
